Show Up. Speak Up. Do what you have to.

Here is me testing a new-for-me technique of blogging. Of communicating, and of political activism.

I believe Naomi Wolf is right.
I believe that the window of opportunity is closing, and that we, ALL OF US, will have to push to keep it open.
I believe that we have to ratchet up our efforts to protect our democracy and our own safety.

I believe that this country's Founders meant for all of us to stand up and protect government for the people, BY the people, if it is ever threatened.

Am I scared to speak out like this?

Hell yes.

but I remember the quote by Martin Niemoller:

"In Germany they came first for the Communists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist. Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn't speak up because I was a Protestant. Then they came for me, and by that time no one was left to speak up."

this is me, worried.

OK, that's strange. When I am looking at my friends list, the picture that shows up is of simplykimberly and Roo. When I clicked through to make a comment to you about it, the video you intended shows up. Odd that.

hm. I wonder if that has anything to do with my recent actions. I sent Jeff a link to Kimberly's recent Roo post and video... what kind of computer confusion could cause that, though, I do not know. Hm.
