Female = enby while mostly presenting female and still preferring she/her pronouns... Aging is no kinda cakewalk for anyone, eh?
I was doing maintenance on my facial hair (read: plucking my chin hairs) and every so often I flash on what my grandma Bert looked like, what I remember. (She died before I turned 12)
I remember one of our outings, she liked to take us grandkids out one at a time once we were old enough to be interesting, yes Mom confirms that she did phrase it like that, in retrospect I'm fine with it.
I remember one moment, looking over at her from the passenger seat, and seeing that while her face was clean of hair, her neck and under her jaw and chin had a pattern of coarse mostly white hairs.
So I come by it honestly. Gramma tended to be very femme, liked shiny glittery costume jewelry, bright colors, and lipstick. Stylish glasses. She was the example to me, for what Louisa May Alcott described as "a handsome woman."
Strong, no bullshit, owned her flaws and occasional bitchiness unapologetically.
I need to think and remember more...
