Today on my way out to Davis to turn in another job app, I found myself behind a trucker, minus the trailer. So just the rig, driving down the freeway.
Something unexpected caught my eye...
I realized he (or maybe she, I didn't notice) had a mountain bike, upside down, propped or strapped behind the cab.
This threw me a little. I guess it's a case of stretching my brain by putting something new in it that didn't blesh with what I thought I knew before.
Athletic truckers. Truckers who go mountain biking.
Hmm.
When I let go of my cherished expectations, the magic that is really there in life, right in front of me leaps out to be recognized and to astonish me.
Astonishment is good.
Recently it seems my eyebrows have taken up permanent residence near my hairline... which makes me giggle.
I've found that wide-eyed wonder that I thought I was "far too old" to feel again.
Honestly, I look forward to astonishing the rest of the world in return...
*wicked grin*
